Texas was SUCH a blast!
Let's start with the plane ride there. Ang gets a new camera and, like I was when I first got my cam, was obsessed. So we're taking picture after picture, totally annoying the people around us on the plane. The one guy in front of us keeps making comments like "That's a nice little toy ya got there" Pretty sweet. Then Ang decides to smash a can into my head while taking a picture of it right as the captain's walknig by, and he goes "No fighting girls" Then when he walks by again Ang is making an angry face picture and he's says "Girls, settle down." I'm sure if we hadn't been 3481983251 feet in the air they would've thrown us off
So we get there and Tori sees us through the glass window at baggage claim and we run up screaming and hugging and all that jazz. Honestly people thought we were crazy.
Her house is beautiful! unfortunatly it's in the middle of nowhere with cow pastures all around and only one coffee shop for the whole town which isn't even a Starbucks. Her school is no joke in the middle of a ranch. I was like whooa culture shock.
Funny conversation:
Angela: What's the diff?
Brandon: (heavy southern accent) Diff? What's diff?
Angela: Difference, like um take a long word and cut it in half, abbriviating it.
Brandon: Uh, I don't say any words longer than three syLAbles. (he pronounced it wrong)
Ohh boy. They also didn't know what the word vulnerable meant, they didn't think they lived in the country, and they thought WE were the ones that had SOUTHERN accents. I could understand if they thought we had an accent different from theirs, but they said "Nah we don't have no accent. Y'all have a sweet southern accent."
We drove up to Dallas like an hour away to the Galleria which has the best shops in the world. I found these adorable shoes which where like a million dollars but who cares. When I'm a movie star I'll wear all the million dollar shoes I want. We also went to Saks Fifth and TIFFANY's and tried on everything.
Let's see, we also went swimming a whole day and got black basically. Our Mexican waiter was spanish... Tori spoke spanish to him perfectly while me and Ang would yell out different phrases that we knew like COMO TE LLAMAS and GRACIAS. The basics.
So Lisa leaves for college monday, and then Friday I'm driving up with my mom to get her situated. I'm so so sad she's leaving. Also really sad I had practically no time over the summer to hang out with her. I think on the way back though we're visitng Luke in Gettysburg so that will be fun.
Show choir camp next week and then school starts. I probably won't update for a while so this one was extra long to make up for it. Although I guess it wasn't that incredibly long, just details of trip to texas. If you haven't seen them, the pictures are: http://community.webshots.com/album/425085066nOLFvw
